What is a simple explanation of Protein Synthesis?

Proteins are made in ribosomes. Ribosomes know how to make proteins through the directions that are held in the DNA of a cell. Ribosomes are held on the rough endoplasmic reticulum. Sorry I don't exactly remember everything it was a while back.
