Do you think I would scare him away?

Don't worry I read the whole thing, I'm not one of those lame people who thinks reading is uncool. It definitely sounds like he was interested, he was probably to nervous to ask for your number. The only thing I'd worry about is it not being the same guy, you could try adding him then seeing if his info matches what you talked about, like the college you attend. I don't think it would scare him, I'm sure he'd be flattered. But if I were you, I'd try running into him again at the bus stop, maybe taking the bus again at the same time you did that day. He's probably going to try to do the same, hoping to run into you again.
