Is there a risk of dependency when using Rogaine?

I have hereditary hair thinning. I just finished my first application of Rogaine but I am wondering whether there is a risk that hair could become dependant on it. That is, I am worried that should I decide to stop treatment, I will lose hair that I would not have lost ordinarily, or my hair would thin at a much faster pace, should I have not used it at all.
